What are the advantages of Rapid Space units?

Modular and prefabricated construction such as Rapid Space systems are becoming a popular alternative to traditional site building, offering several advantages:

Rapid installation: A basic module can be installed within an hour, with full three‑storey stacking possible. Full scale projects can be completed up to 50 per cent faster than traditional construction. For businesses, that means quicker time to occupancy and less disruption.

In sectors like education and healthcare, where timing is critical, modular buildings offer a major advantage.

Scalability and flexibility: Unlike traditional buildings, the modular cabins can be easily expanded, reconfigured, relocated, or removed as your needs change. As well as stacked up to three storeys high, the units can also be adjoined to create a series of interconnected spaces.

Whether you’re a school needing additional classroom space, a business requiring a temporary office, or a healthcare provider expanding patient capacity, modular solutions can adapt as your requirements evolve.

Sustainability: Sustainability is a major factor in modern construction, and modular buildings excel here. Because modules are built in a controlled environment, there’s significantly less waste produced. Many modular construction companies use recycled or eco-friendly materials, and the process itself generates lower emissions.

Modular buildings can also be designed to meet high energy-efficiency standards, further reducing long-term environmental impact. This all helps your business or organisation to meet Environmental, Social and Governance standards.

Quality and precision: Factory-based production allows for tighter quality control. Skilled workers follow set processes using advanced tools and technology to ensure each module meets exacting standards. There is also less risk of weather delays or damage during the build, which helps maintain consistency and structural integrity.

Minimal on-site disruption: Since most of the work is done off-site, modular construction creates far less noise, mess, and disruption than traditional building. For facilities that need to stay operational, such as schools, hospitals, or businesses, this is a crucial benefit. It allows for expansion or renovation with minimal interruption to daily operations.

Cost efficiency: Modular buildings often cost less than traditional builds, thanks to reduced labour requirements, shorter build times, and less material waste.

Off-site manufacturing also allows for bulk purchasing of materials, which can further drive down costs. For organisations with tight budgets, modular buildings offer a financially sensible alternative without compromising on quality.

Rapid Space product specifications

Our Rapid Space cabins are available in a range of sizes, all based on multiples of 20x8ft, including 20x8ft, 20x16ft, 40x16ft and more.

The units feature a one hour fire rated durable powder-coated steel sandwich panel exterior, that is resistant to weather and corrosion. Other standard features include two UPVC double glazed windows, a steel security door and welded steel roof system.

The standard internal layout is open plan, but for an extra cost the units can be adapted with partition walls to provide kitchenettes, toilets, or washing facilities with sinks and showers. The standard finishings include vinyl flooring, three double power sockets, LED strip lighting and UK Standard electric panel heaters.

These features can be customised and upgraded according to your requirements. This makes them ideal for adapting to a wide range of sectors and purposes, including construction site accommodation, sanitary blocks, office space, medical units, training rooms, storage, and much more.
